based on Lewis Carroll
This performance is based on the two novels by Lewis Carroll Alice in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass” (1872). Together with the students of the 3rd year acting at ADK, the director Pedro Martins Beja has put together an evening performance exploring the fragile separation between fiction and reality/autonomy and heteronomy.
Alice replicates herself and is now looking for her wonderland in the real world. Norms and boundaries get blurred, attributions and categorizations grow fuzzy, and the dividing line between reality and imagination dissolves.
The reality-creating power of the word and the truth created by it are called into question. The separation between fantasy and reality becomes weaker and weaker.

The Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Wuerttemberg (ADK), founded in 2007, prepares students for careers in theatre and film. The institution aims to provide students with practical and project-based training in Acting (Bachelor’s Degree), Directing (Bachelor’s Degree) and Dramaturgy (Master’s Degree) as well as in Stage and Costume Design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. Interdisciplinarity is a core feature of the academic concept of the ADK. The proximity to the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg and the campus shared by these two institutions, as well as close cooperation with the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and the University of Education, allow us to react to an art that is exposed to constant changes. To build a bridge between studies and professional life and to get access to a wide range of different institutions and personalities in the field of theatrical and artistic practice, the ADK engages in exchange and cooperation with a number of theatres and art institutions. We also participate in various festivals and hold guest performances in Germany and Europe.
