Romulus the Great

When Rome is about to be destroyed, there are only two things left to do: face a horrible death head-on, or turn away, bored. To meet your violent end, or peacefully enjoy one last breakfast egg. No news can change the world. Only actions can do that, but it’s too late for them to have any effect because they've already happened before the news arrives. Justice, my friend, is a ghastly thing.

Claudia Bossard developed this performance together with her actors, adapting the text to reflect and comment on the contemporary political situation and the mass-media culture we live in.

The university is relatively young, having obtained university status only at the beginning of the 1998/1999 school year. Nevertheless, it traces its roots back to the "Akademischer Musikverein" (Academic Music Association), which was established in Graz in 1815 for the purpose of educating local inhabitants in music. This was the very first music institute in Austria, and its patron was none other than Archduke Johann, brother of Emperor Ferdinand I. To this day, his municipal palace is the seat of this modern university with an appealing offer of academic fields and opportunities.
